Crew Room at the Tropospheric Scatter Site

This was our office and rest area when on shift. The many manuals covered all of the equipment in the facility.

 

The desk telephone was connected to the Upper Camp telephone exchange. To communicate up and down the tropospheric scatter link we went to the control and patch panel in the South equipment room.

 

Much of our time on shift was spent doing preventative maintenance tests on the equipment. In our spare time most of us studied so that we would be prepared should a piece of equipment fail. There was great emphasis on achieving zero defects.

 

If anyone knows of a surviving set of AN/FRC-39 Technical manuals I would like to know  about them.
